Do gutter guards actually work under pine trees?
Quality micro-mesh does. Cheap foam and plastic screens clog with pine straw and shingle grit and make the problem worse.
Should I upgrade to 6-inch gutter?
If you have steep roof planes, long runs, or recurring overflow, yes. Six-inch gutter with 3x4 downspouts moves roughly 40% more water.
Can gutters cause foundation problems?
Absolutely — discharge dumped at the foundation is one of the most common causes of crawlspace moisture and settlement in North Georgia clay.
