How a Large-Loss Project Works, Step by Step
Eight stages, each documented. The engineer and the builder stay on the same team from the first night to the final inspection.
- 01
Emergency response
Secure the home, tarp and board up, make the site safe.
- 02
Engineering assessment
Site inspection, attic and structure survey, load path analysis, photo documentation.
- 03
Sealed engineering report
Cause, extent, required investigation and repair scope.
- 04
Permit and utilities
Building permit, temporary power, service relocation, mitigation set up.
- 05
Investigative demolition
Expose the structure; second engineering inspection; concealed damage documented.
- 06
Repair design
Sealed repair drawings; estimate updated and supplements documented.
- 07
Reconstruction
Foundation, framing, roof, MEP, through staged county inspections with engineering hold points.
- 08
Finishes and close-out
Interiors, final inspections, engineer's completion letter, contents reset.
Nothing gets covered before it's inspected.
After investigative demolition, our engineer inspects the exposed structure and documents concealed damage. During reconstruction, work stops at defined engineering hold points and staged county inspections before framing, connections or foundations are closed up. Supplements are documented as conditions are exposed, so your adjuster sees the same evidence we do.
